North Carolina workplace fatalities decreased in 2013
On Thursday, January 16 the North Carolina Department of Labor reported that there were 23 workplace deaths in 2013, 10 fewer deaths than in 2012.
According to the Labor department, all of the people that died on North Carolina work sites in 2013 were male laborers. The average age of the male laborer is 44 years.
Labor Commissioner, Cherie Berry said the data excludes deaths due to workplace violence and motor vehicle accidents. Deaths of self-employed individuals also were not added to the total of 2013 workplace fatalities.
